This weekend, Emily and I got away for the night...just the two of us. I thought it was time for us to spend a little quality time together.
We left right after school on Friday.
As we were pulling out of the driveway, we noticed a rainbow... Thank you God for your promises.
We spent the night hanging out together, talking, painting fingernails and watching a movie.
In the morning, we had breakfast, talked some more, and went out to have some fun!
We did some shopping and went ice-skating.
We had a little snack...
On the way home, we saw another rainbow. I love how they were like beautiful bookends for our time together.
One more stop on the way home for a special dinner at Olive Garden.
We had such a nice time together. It was so fun and interesting to talk to her about all the things she is feeling and experiencing in this time of her life. I feel so blessed to have been able to take this little bit of time with her!

I'm so glad you guys spent some "alone time" together. I bet she had a really good time! And, even better...you had a surprise when you got home...CHAD! How cool is that??!
